The Department of Computer Science, is one of the pioneer department in Dumkal College. The Department is one of the growing department. Computer science is the study of computers and computational systems. It is a broad field which includes everything from the algorithms that make up software to how software interacts with hardware to how well software is developed and designed.
It came into the existence B.Sc.Computer Science General (3 Year Course) in the year 2001-2002 session and B.Sc.Computer Science Honourse (3 Year Course) in the year 2003-2004 session under University of Kalyani with the installation modern Computing System Lab and expert faculty members.And in 2018 it run as a new CBCS Semester system Hons.,GE and Pass. In the year 2023 it run as a new NEP2020 Policy Eight Semester system with B.Sc. Computer Science Major(Hons.) and Minor(General).
Syllabi of these programmes are designed considering the requirement of time as well as the demand of the IT industry.After passing B.Sc.Computer Science they can take admission to higher education like M.Sc Computer Science or M.C.A or getting job like govt. or software and hardware industry.
